A Blizzard of Patches

As we are bracing for what appears to be the first major snow storm of the year, I have been bracing for a big Patch Tuesday. Today Microsoft released 12 security patches, six of which are rated Critical. They cover a wide range of vulnerabilities from Internet Explorer to HTML Help to database connection components. Three of the Windows patches are for Microsoft Office, so there is also an update for Office 2004 for Mac. Plus there are additional non-security patches being released; one of which is very important and I'll be writing more about it soon.

Given the number and severity of the vulnerabilities patched, I want to encourage everyone to patch your computers as soon as you can--that goes for your personal ones at home as well. We plan to do the same for all Emerson servers.

For more information about patching and keeping your computers up to date, see the Patch Tuesday blog entry. More information about the Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.4 Update is available on the Microsoft web site.
