An Important Windows Patch

On Tuesday, Microsoft released a critical security patch to correct a vulnerability in the way animated cursors are handled. Many people think they are immune because they don't download cursors, but this not true! A computer can be exploited by visiting a maliciously crafted web page or opening a malicious e-mail and all current versions of Windows are affected.

We are seeing a steadily increasing number of attacks on the internet, so it is important to install the patch as soon as possible. The threat is so significant that Microsoft has released this patch one week ahead of Patch Tuesday, which will still be happening on April 10. For more information about patching and keeping your computers up to date, see the Patch Tuesday blog entry.

Elena:

Fortunately, almost all our computers here automatically grabbed and installed the patch. We worked on the final stragglers this morning.
