Many Apple and Microsoft Updates

Yesterday was Microsoft's monthly Patch Tuesday, where they released a number of patches, which fix some important vulnerabilities. As always, patching as soon possible is recommended. For more information about patching and keeping your computers up to date, see my first Patch Tuesday blog entry.

Over the past couple weeks, Apple has release a number of important patches. First was the release of Mac OS X 10.5.3; a 420 MB download which contained a massive number of security and bug fixes. There is a good summary article at Intego.com. More recently, Apple has fixed some important vulnerabilities in QuickTime, which will affect all Apple and most Windows users. (Remember, QuickTime in required in order to use iTunes.) For more information, see Apple Security Updates.
