This is a 46 minute doc about tourists who travel to Bolivia to work in silver mines. sounds weird, but apparently "reality tourism" is a travel trend. Anyway, this would make an excellent double bill with our last preview, The Devil's Miner.

You have to register to see the list, but it is quick and easy. spoiler: Citizen Kane wins!

The Media Resource collection has all but 10 of the top 100. As soon as the new fiscal year begins, we'll be sure to add Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bridge on the River Kuai, The Sound of Music, Rocky, Cabaret, In the Heat of the Night, Spartacus, 12 Angry Men, and Sophie's Choice--and The African Queen, if it becomes available on DVD. Not sure what the problem is, but that is one of the films I'm always trying to get--

Deja Vu readers, if any truly are out there: what is your pick for the greatest American film of all time? Ok, to make it interesting, cuz we know it HAS to be Citizen Kane, what is your favorite American film of all time?

So why not check out some ballet films?
Why, you ask? Well, just because we have some great ones in the collection.
When I say ballet films, I'm talking about the genre of movies where ballet is the setting--not recorded performances, though we have those, also.
No, I'm thinking of stuff like The Red Shoes, Center Stage (ok, not great, but memorable to the ballet-obsessed), Turning Point, Billy Elliot (one of the Media Librarian's favorite all-time films!),
and the incredible doc, Ballet Russes.
How can we watch all this stuff in one hour?
Clips. I can find the highlights of this stuff with my eyes closed.
