Emerson students Caty McDonough and Adrienne Franceschi were interviewed for China Radio International, CRI, on Thursday, July 17. The Deputy Director of the Overseas Broadcasting Department, Liao Jibo, was on site at the Capital Indoor Stadium to conduct the interview.

Mr. Liao asked the students about their experiences and impressions of Beijing thus far, as well as what they thought of the BOCOG management staff and the training they have received. The conversation was casual and upbeat, and lasted about 10 to 15 minutes. The students emphazised their enthusiasm for the start of the Games and how welcomed they felt in Beijing.

McDonough and Franceschi will be working as Press Tribune Assistants at CAS, the indoor volleyball venue.

CRI is the only overseas broadcaster of the People's Republic of China and prides itself on its English language programming. Mr. Liao will contact the students to let them know when the interview is going to be aired, and suggested that it might be possible for the Emerson group to visit the CRI headquarters just west of Beijing. More information and live streaming can be found at crienglish.com.
