Goodness, Gracious, Great Wall of China!

Ahhhh Beijing. So far I've learned a lot that I didn't know.

-You can stare directly at the sun...

-Chinese cuisine leaves me starving

-Even in Beijing you can find a Wal-Mart

- Chinese television is really interesting. Since the programming is monitored by the government, you will not see anything against the government and its politics. It’s so completely different to see.

-Everyone stares at you. And sometimes they come right up and touch you. It's uncomfortable.

-The architecture is amazing and advanced. Looking at the buildings will never get old.

Its been quite an adjustment and I am still very much in a transition...

Nice blog, Sandy. I love little bits and pieces of another culture. Sounds like it's been challenging but I know you guys are up to the task.

Sandra,
I'm loving reading about your trip! I teach a huge Asian unit as part of 6th grade social studies, so it's really relevant for me. The photos are great and the food info has been fun! I sure was surprised to learn about the WalMart! Keep me in mind if you see any good "artifacts" for my curriculum. What an amazing experience for you! Keep the cool info coming...
