Use the MSC studio

If you are a non-production student that needs studio space have you ever wondered: “Where on campus can I go?”  The Media Services Center (MSC) has a control room and studio space that was created just for that very purpose. The studio has 3 cameras, a video switcher, and soundboard.  You can record to DVD, mini dv, Beta Sp, and VHS if you dare.

Here are some ideas of ways you can use the MSC studio:

•    Practice a speech or PowerPoint presentation and videotape it.  You can review your work and make improvements as needed.  I guarantee practicing in front of a camera will make your presentation more effective.

•    The studio has a videoconferencing unit.  If you are a faculty member and you are looking to bring in a guest lecturer from far away this just might be the technology tool you are looking for.  This option can also be used for meetings and interviews.  The studio can seat around 25 students.

•    Focus group meetings can be documented and videotaped.

•    Hold a rehearsal that needs to incorporate videotaping.

•    The studio can be used for lighting workshops or any other type of workshop that needs some space.

•    View video or 16mm film on a large screen using a Media Services video projector.

Call us at 617-824-8676 to book the space.
