Senator Hillary Clinton has withdrawn her name from the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Months ago she had suspended her campaign. But during the roll call at the Democratic National Convention, many states still cast their votes for her. When the roll call vote got to her New York State, Senator Clinton released all her delegates. Then the Convention's delegates unanimously nominated Senator Barack Obama for president. Mr. Obama has won the nomination by acclamation.
