Women's Caucus Draws Huge Crowds

Today it's all about the women. Hillary Clinton is speaking tonight, it's the anniversary of the women's right to vote, and this morning the women's caucus drew huge crowds at the Colorado Convention Center.

At the women's caucus, there were a thousand people who came from all over the country.  They gathered to celebrate their powerful and successful colleagues, and to stress how vital the women's vote will be in 2008. They cheered, hollered, and shook silver tambourines designed to make their voices even louder.

This year women will make up about 51% of the electorate, and an even higher percentage are expected to be Democratic voters.

The event comes on the heels of Michelle Obama's greatly applauded speech to the DNC last night, and several caucus speakers praised her message.

"The fact that Barack married Michelle speaks volumes about him," said Fran Drescher, health care advocate and star of televison's "The Nanny."

Other notable speakers were Ellen Malcolm, President of EMILY's List, Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (MA), and Andrea Wong, CEO of Lifetime Television.
