I am Animatronic, and Other Misnomers

Since I've moved here, I've gotten a lot of questions about my hometown. I thought I would address the most pressing ones with this "true or false" quiz.

1.     "All the people in Celebration are actually Animatronic. Right?"

Answer: False. If I am, they did a great job of making me lifelike because I'm freezing my ass off right now.

2.      "I heard residents who move out cannot say anything negative about Celebration. Or else."

Answer: False. But if my blog entries suddenly disappear, you'll know why. Call Dan Brown immediately.

3.     "Celebration is a perfectly safe utopia." This one has sadly been perpetuated by one of my favorite shows, The Office.

Angela: I never felt safe here.

Andy: You're always safe with me. I'm a very good screamer. And one day, we're going to move to Disney's Celebration Village in Florida and leave all of this behind.

Angela: I would very much like that.

Answer: My answer to this used to be: False. But since I've been out in the real world, I've changed my answer to: It's pretty damn close.

"Does Disney make it snow in the streets of Celebration during the winter?"

Answer: Scarily enough, this one is true. And so I begin my Lesson on Snope.

When you live in Celebration do you have to dress like Disney characters or just wear clothes that prominently feature Disney characters?

Matt,

Yes, you have to dress like a Disney character at all times and forgo your real name. Get your costume ready.

Actually...although Disney theme park costumes are not required, I did find out later that my high school history teacher was Goofy. Literally.
